"It's a String Thing" #203

It's Tuesday, your good news day!

In this season of weddings, I thought it would be fun to take one of the hallmark sayings associated with the preparations and incorporate it into our next two IAST adventures.

Traditionally, when a bride readies for her wedding, she tries to include "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue."

This week we will use the first two "somethings" and next week, the last two.

The tiles from this week will be published together with the tiles from IAST #204 on
Monday, July 24.

Join in when you are able - complete one or both challenges - send your tiles together or separately...the choices are yours!

We begin with this string ~

IAST #203 by Adele Bruno, CZT

Our "something old" will be the tangle
SeZ by Rick Roberts (also here on TanglePatterns)
This was first introduced in the Zentangle® newsletter on December 5, 2008.  The roundness of it will add a nice contrast to the angular Trilad (below).
While Rick used seeds to mark the random spots to begin SeZ, dots alone would work just fine.

Our "something new" will be the tangle
Trilad by Laura Liu, CZT
Since this is the newest entry on TanglePatterns it is fitting for our challenge.
At first glance, it looks similar to other triangle based tangles, but through its step out, it has its own uniqueness.  Elements of those other tangles can be easily incorporated.

Simply pencil the string line onto your tile and tangle away! Keep in mind that string lines are suggestions and let the patterns lead the way.

Here are the (Not so) Official Guidelines:

*Use the string posted for the week and some or all of the suggested patterns
* Submit a photo of your tile saved as jpg or scan your tile (300 dpi or higher) and save as a jpg
*Email your jpg file as an attachment to - brunoadelem@gmail.com
